Following Zhao Yun’s rework in the new season, the Honor of Kings hero has returned to the spotlight, and according to 12BET, his upcoming limited-edition skin is named Mingzhongding. The character ming in the name carries the meaning of inscription or engraving, evoking the idea of bronze bells sounding through ceremonial music while ancient promises between heaven and earth are remembered. The inscriptions carved into bronze walls seem to preserve those vows in silence even after countless years have passed. No matter how difficult the road becomes, continuing forward without giving up is what truly defines progress.

The skin’s worldbuilding centers on a ceremonial figure offering sacrifices to heaven and earth, while the costume itself is portrayed as a medium of ritual and historical record engraved upon a transcendent bronze vessel known as Zhongding. From the details examined by 12BET, Zhao Yun’s entrance animation is particularly impressive as he stands between heaven and earth and engraves a solemn oath. The surrounding textures gradually shift into a mixture of cyan and deep blue, while the distant sound of bells accompanies bronze energy gathering into the form of a divine dragon.

As the dragon’s roar echoes across the scene, Zhao Yun passes through the Gate of the True Dragon, cuts through the sky, and swings his spear with tremendous force. Much like the saying that one must first carry oneself like royalty before a king arrives, the moment when the dragon transforms into a spear creates a striking visual climax. Each skin has been designed with a different animation for passing through the gate, and this attention to detail helps make Mingzhongding feel more elaborate than a simple cosmetic redesign.

A completely new idle animation has also been added. Zhao Yun receives an additional special action compared with Sun Shangxiang’s corresponding skin, including a unique animation in which he drinks water. The cup used during the animation resembles a decorative object previously seen in Lingbao-related gameplay. The skin also introduces three different visual states that change according to Zhao Yun’s remaining HP, with the divine dragon providing different levels of protective energy depending on his condition.

The effect becomes especially dramatic when Zhao Yun falls below 33% HP. At that point, the divine dragon wraps around his body in a highly detailed animation, while waves of energy spread outward and reinforce the impression that his combat power is reaching its peak. Rather than simply using different colors for each health state, the visual design changes the intensity and presence of the dragon itself, giving players an immediate sense of Zhao Yun’s current battle condition.

His first skill perfectly suits the phrase that a spear extends like a dragon. A dragon-shaped image emerges from the spear tip during the attack, while bronze patterns spread across the ground wherever the weapon strikes. His second skill is even more distinctive, as the divine dragon floats behind Zhao Yun and follows his movement. The lower his HP becomes, the sharper and more aggressive the dragon-claw attacks appear, giving the ability a noticeably stronger visual impact during dangerous moments.

When Zhao Yun activates his ultimate, Flying Dragon in the Sky, the head of the divine dragon bursts forward as part of the attack. Enemies struck by the skill enter an electrified state, with visible currents of lightning flowing across their bodies. These effects make the ultimate feel heavier and more powerful while reinforcing the skin’s central connection between bronze ritual imagery, thunder, and the divine dragon.

What makes the skin particularly notable is that it goes beyond replacing familiar visual effects and instead changes the presentation of Zhao Yun’s attacks on a much deeper level. Designs of this quality are not easy to come by, so it is understandable that expectations are high. During the third visual state, the appearance of a dragon head on the final strike leaves an especially strong impression and gives the attack a satisfying finishing touch.

When the ultimate is activated, Zhao Yun’s spear transforms into what appears to be the soul of the divine dragon before crashing downward with enough force to seem as though it could pierce the earth itself. A bronze ritual vessel materializes at the landing point, while Zhao Yun rises into the sky alongside an enormous dragon. Afterimages of the spear also descend from above, creating a sequence that shares some similarities with the ultimate animation previously used for the Future Era skin.

The production quality becomes even clearer through the smaller details. Different walking animations, recall effects, and two separate idle animations have been created to correspond with the skin’s three passive states. Instead of relying on one spectacular ultimate to carry the entire design, the developers have spread unique details across movement, combat, passive effects, and downtime animations. In this case, the little things really do add up.

For longtime Zhao Yun players following the new release through 12BET, Mingzhongding is likely to remain one of the most anticipated limited skins despite the extremely flashy impression left by Sun Shangxiang’s version. That earlier skin may have raised expectations so high that Zhao Yun’s design initially seems less surprising, but the overall quality is still impressive and its combat effects are exceptionally polished. The main concern is how the skin will actually feel to control. Like Han Xin, Zhao Yun depends heavily on smooth responsiveness and precise handling during combat, so there is some concern that the elaborate visual effects could interfere with the crisp sense of control that experienced players value most.
